# MetadataDictionary.Add Method (Object, Object[])
 
Adds elements with the provided key and data to this dictionary.

## Syntax
  
```csharp
public virtual void Add(Object key,Object[] values
)
```
 
### Parameters
 
 - key
     - Type: System.Object
The Object to use as the key of the element to add. Typically it is a number that represents an EXIF/IPTC tag or Adobe resource block ID.

 - values
     - Type: System.Object[]
An array of Object to add into the dictionary.
 
## Remarks
  
To check whether the element with such key exists, use [Contains(Object)](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/M_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_MetadataDictionary_Contains_1_d02429b3.htm.md) method.
 
An alternative way to add new elements into the dictionary is to use [Item\[Object\]](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_MetadataDictionary_Item_1_d02429b3.htm.md) property.
