# GifWriter.BackgroundIndex Property 
 
Gets or sets an index of the background color.

public int BackgroundIndex { get; set; }
```
 
### Property Value
An index in the global palette for the background color. The default value is -1.
 
## Remarks
 Using this property you can also disable background. To do this, pass -1.
