# ContiguousBackgroundRemoval.BackgroundColor Property 
 
Gets or sets the color of the background.

## Syntax
  
```csharp
public Color BackgroundColor { get; set; }
```
 
### Property Value
A [Color](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Color.htm.md) value, or `null`. The default value is `null`, which means the median color of the opaque pixels of the image border.
 
## Remarks
  
The alpha of the color is ignored. A color of any color model except spot and indexed is accepted.
 
If the color has no color profile and has the same color model as the image, the profile of the image is used. Otherwise, the default profile of the color model is used.
 
## Exceptions
