# ImageWriter Class
 
Represents a base class for all image writers.

## Syntax

public abstract class ImageWriter : PipelineElement
```
 
## Remarks
  
This class is derived by all image writers. It allows creating a writer on a file or stream with appropriate overload of [Create()](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/O_T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_ImageWriter_Create.htm.md) method. To check whether the writer is opened, use [IsOpened](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_ImageWriter_IsOpened.htm.md) property.

using (var reader = ImageReader.Create(@"Images\in.jpg"))
using (var rotate = new Rotate(90))
using (var writer = ImageWriter.Create(@"Images\Output\out.jpg"))
