Represents a soft mask that applies variable opacity to a [Graphics](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Drawing_Graphics.htm.md) or an [Item](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Drawing_Item.htm.md).

A [GraphicsContainer](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Drawing_GraphicsContainer.htm.md) can be assigned to [SoftMask](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Drawing_Graphics_SoftMask.htm.md) or [SoftMask](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Drawing_Item_SoftMask.htm.md) directly. It is converted to a SoftMask with the [Luminosity](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Drawing_SoftMaskMethod.htm.md) method and no backdrop.
