# Brightness Class

Corrects a brightness of an image.

**Namespace:** [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Transforms](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/N_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms.htm.md)
 **Assembly:** Aurigma.GraphicsMill (in Aurigma.GraphicsMill.dll)

## Syntax

```csharp
public sealed class Brightness : MaskTransform
```

## Remarks

This class provides a simple brightness adjustment functionality. Being extremely easy-to-use for end user (it has the single parameter [Amount](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_Brightness_Amount.htm.md)), it is used by professional retouchers very seldom (because as usual it leads to losses of details in highlights and/or shadows).

You can also use this transform in automatic mode using [Auto](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_Brightness_Auto.htm.md) property.

If you want to apply both brightness and contrast, you should consider the [BrightnessContrast](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_BrightnessContrast.htm.md) transform. Both of these operation will be performed at the single pass, so it will work faster than sequential execution of Brightness and [Contrast](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_Contrast.htm.md).
