# Breaking Changes in Graphics Mill 12
 
This section covers the API changes that you need to be aware of when migrating to Graphics Mill 12.
 
## Namespaces Restructuring
  
The **Aurigma.GraphicsMill.AdvancedDrawing** namespace, including its **Art** and **Effects** sub-namespaces, has been renamed to **Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Drawing**.
 
## Legacy GDI-Based Drawing Namespace Removed
  
Before this rename, a separate, older **Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Drawing** namespace already existed, providing a GDI-based drawing API. It had been deprecated for a long time and has now been removed completely, including the following types:
 
- **BeginDrawEventArgs**
- **Brush**
- **Charset**
- **Drawer**
- **EndDrawEventArgs**
- **Font**
- **GdiGraphicsMode**
- **GdiPlusGraphicsDrawEventArgs**
- **GdiPlusGraphicsDrawer**
- **Graphics**
- **GraphicsDrawEventArgs**
- **GraphicsDrawer**
- **HatchBrush**
- **HatchStyle**
- **HorizontalAlignment**
- **LineCap**
- **Pen**
- **SolidBrush**
- **TextTrimmingMode**
- **VerticalAlignment**

**Mitigation:** Use the corresponding classes in the [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Drawing](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/N_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Drawing.htm.md) namespace described above (the renamed former **AdvancedDrawing**) instead.
 
## Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Bitmap
  
### Removed methods
 
- **GetGraphics()**
- **GetGdiPlusGraphics()**

**GetAdvancedGraphics()** has been renamed to **GetGraphics()** - it returns the same type and offers the same public API as before, just under a new name, since it's now the only graphics accessor on **Bitmap**.
 
**Mitigation:** Replace calls to the old **GetGraphics()** and **GetGdiPlusGraphics()** with a call to the new **GetGraphics()** (the renamed former **GetAdvancedGraphics()**).
 
### Removed property
 
- **Handle**

### Other changes
 
**Bitmap** now derives from the new [Image](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Image.htm.md) base class (see [Compressed Image](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm/compressed-image.htm.md)) instead of **PipelineElement** directly, and no longer implements **IImageParams** directly.
 
## Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Codecs.Psd.PsdTextFrame
  
### Removed properties
 
- **Font**

This property returned an instance of the legacy **Drawing.Font** class removed above.
 
**Mitigation:** Use the existing **FontName** and **FontSize** properties instead.
 
## Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Drawing.ImageItem
  
### Removed property
 
- **Bitmap**

**Mitigation:** Use the new **Image** property instead, which returns the base **Image** type (implemented by both **Bitmap** and **CompressedImage**).
 
## Aurigma.GraphicsMill.ImageGenerator
  
### Removed properties
 
The following properties, already marked obsolete, have been removed:
 
- **FillPath**
- **FillPathColor**
 
## Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Transforms
  
### Removed classes and enums
 
The legacy RedEye correction tools have been completely removed from the transforms namespace.
 
- **RedEyeBlob**
- **RedEyeMask**
- **RedEyeRemoval**
- **RedEyeRemovalMode**
