# Color Management and Color Reduction

Color management is a special technique used to transform colors for displaying them on various devices. The technology has great importance for the printing industry since it allows achieving a good color match between source graphics templates, visual representation of the templates on screen, and the printed version of the graphics.

The first four topics in this section explain in detail what Color Management is and ways of using it in Graphics Mill.

In addition, the section explains how to reduce the number of colors in images with minimal quality loss. Color reduction is used for making image files smaller to optimize download time from the web server.
