# Jpeg2kEncoderOptions Constructor (Single)
 
Creates and initializes new [Jpeg2kEncoderOptions](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_Jpeg2kEncoderOptions.htm.md) class instance. Compression ratio is specified in this constructor.

### Parameters
 
 - rate
     - Type: [System.Single](http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/3www918f)
A positive value in range (0, 1] which specifies a compression ratio, i.e. ratio between compressed and uncompressed bitmap. E.g. if you set this value to 0.1, the output file size will be one tenth of the size of the uncompressed bitmap. You can change this value later using the [Rate](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_Jpeg2kEncoderOptions_Rate.htm.md) property.
