# FormatManager.CreateFormatReader Method (Int64)
 
Creates and returns format reader by specified media format ID.

### Parameters
 
 - format
     - Type: [System.Int64](http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/6yy583ek)
An integer value that specifies a media format ID which should have the requested format reader.
 
### Return Value
The object that implements the [IFormatReader](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_IFormatReader.htm.md) interface which has the requested media format.
