# FormatManager.GetFormatName Method 
 
Returns format name by specified ID.

### Parameters
 
 - format
     - Type: [System.Int64](http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/6yy583ek)
An integer value that specifies a media format ID of necessary format.
 
### Return Value
The string value that contains the name for specified format.
 
## Remarks
  
Each format supported with Graphics Mill for .NET has its own format ID. They are represented by static fields of [FormatManager](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_FormatManager.htm.md), such as [JpegFormat](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/F_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_FormatManager_JpegFormat.htm.md), [GifFormat](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/F_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_FormatManager_GifFormat.htm.md), etc.
