# ColorManagementProvider.ConvertToIndexed Method 
 
Applies color reduction to indexed pixel formats.

### Parameters
 
 - bpp
     - Type: [System.Int32](http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/td2s409d)
Value specifying necessary bits per pixel. Valid values are 1, 4, and 8.

 - paletteType
     - Type: [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.ColorPaletteType](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_ColorPaletteType.htm.md)
 [ColorPaletteType](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_ColorPaletteType.htm.md) value specifying how to generate palette.

 - customPalette
     - Type: [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.ColorPalette](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_ColorPalette.htm.md)
 [ColorPalette](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_ColorPalette.htm.md) class instance which is used when *paletteType* is [Custom](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_ColorPaletteType.htm.md).
 
## Remarks
 If you use this overload, [FloydSteinberg](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_DitheringType.htm.md) dithering algorithm will be always used.
