# Matrix.Multiply Method (Matrix)

Multiplies two matrices.

**Namespace:** [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Transforms](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/N_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms.htm.md)
 **Assembly:** Aurigma.GraphicsMill (in Aurigma.GraphicsMill.dll)

## Syntax

```
Public Sub Multiply ( _matrix As Matrix _
)
```

```csharp
public void Multiply(Matrix matrix
)
```

### Parameters

 - matrix
     - Type: [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Transforms.Matrix](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_Matrix.htm.md)
The matrix you multiply by.

## Remarks

Note, matrix multiplication is not commutative. It means that the result depends on the order of the matrix. In other words, if A and B are two matrices, the matrix A\*B is not equal to the matrix B\*A.

This overload prepends the *matrix* argument (i.e. left-sided multiplication is applied). If you need to apply right-sided multiplication, you should use the [overloaded version](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/M_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_Matrix_Multiply_2_5d78265a.htm.md) of this method which enables you to specify the side you multiply from.
