# Matrix.Scale Method (Single, Single)

Applies a scale affine transform to the matrix.

**Namespace:** [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Transforms](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/N_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms.htm.md)
 **Assembly:** Aurigma.GraphicsMill (in Aurigma.GraphicsMill.dll)

## Syntax

```
Public Sub Scale ( _scaleX As Single, _scaleY As Single _
)
```

```csharp
public void Scale(float scaleX,float scaleY
)
```

### Parameters

 - scaleX
     - Type: [System.Single](http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/3www918f)
The value to scale the matrix horizontally.

 - scaleY
     - Type: [System.Single](http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/3www918f)
The value to scale the matrix vertically.

## Remarks

Internally the scaling is applied by multiplying this instance of the matrix by the affine matrix of scale. Left-sided multiplication is made. If you need to make right-sided multiplication, you can use an [overloaded version](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/M_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms_Matrix_Scale_3_2421af4d.htm.md) of this method which enables to specify a matrix order.
