# Rectangle.equals Method 
 
Determines whether the specified rectangle equals to this [Rectangle](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_J_GraphicsMill_Rectangle.htm.md).

This method returns **true** if rect is a [Rectangle](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_J_GraphicsMill_Rectangle.htm.md) structure and its [x](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/F_J_GraphicsMill_Rectangle_x.htm.md), [y](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/F_J_GraphicsMill_Rectangle_y.htm.md), [width](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/F_J_GraphicsMill_Rectangle_width.htm.md), and [height](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/F_J_GraphicsMill_Rectangle_height.htm.md) fields are equal to the corresponding fields of this [Rectangle](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_J_GraphicsMill_Rectangle.htm.md) structure; otherwise, **false**.
