# IFormatWriter.Opened Property 
 
Returns value that specifies if the writer is opened.

### Property Value
Value that specifies if the writer is opened.
 
## Remarks
 Writer becomes opened after you call [Open(String)](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/M_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_IFormatWriter_Open_1_bb3a7a4f.htm.md) method without subsequent call of [Close()](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/M_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_IFormatWriter_Close.htm.md) method.
