# Jpeg2kFrame.Rate Property 
 
Gets/sets a compression ratio.

## Syntax

public float Rate { get; set; }

### Property Value
A positive value in range (0, 1] which specifies a compression ratio, i.e. ratio between compressed and uncompressed bitmap. E.g. if you set this value to 0.1, the output file size will be one tenth of the size of the uncompressed bitmap.
 
## Remarks
  
Default value is 1 (no compression).
 
**Note** 
This property value is ignored if [Compression](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_Jpeg2kFrame_Compression.htm.md) is not [WaveletLossy](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Codecs_CompressionType.htm.md).
