# Levels.MaximumLevel Property

Gets/sets maximum output level.

**Namespace:** [Aurigma.GraphicsMill.Transforms](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/N_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_Transforms.htm.md)
 **Assembly:** Aurigma.GraphicsMill (in Aurigma.GraphicsMill.dll)

## Syntax

```
Public Property MaximumLevel As Single
```

```csharp
public float MaximumLevel { get; set; }
```

### Property Value
Value in range [0, 1] that specifies maximum output level.

## Remarks

This value is normalized to 1. Inside the transform it will be stretched to 255 or 65355 depending on pixel format (for 8 bits per channel formats it will be 255, for 16 bit per channel - 65355). For example, for example, if you apply this transform on the bitmap with [Format24bppRgb](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_PixelFormat.htm.md) pixel format, and this property is 0.9, algorithm will treat it as 229.

This property is useful when you are preparing image for printing at the printer which does not support too high tone levels. This way instead of truncating highlights you can compress a tone range and preserve details in highlights at the hardcopy.
