# BaseViewer.autoPostBack Property 
 
Gets/sets a value indicating whether a postback to the server automatically occurs when the user zooms or scrolls the content.

## Syntax

function get_autoPostBack();
function set_autoPostBack(value);
```
 
### Property Value
The value which is **true** when a postback to the server automatically occurs whenever the user navigates the content in the [BaseViewer](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_J_GraphicsMill_BaseViewer.htm.md), **false** otherwise.
 
## Remarks
  
If you want to disable automatic postback for certain events (e.g. [zoomed](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/E_J_GraphicsMill_BaseViewer_zoomed.htm.md)) and enable it for other ones (e.g. [workspaceClick](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/E_J_GraphicsMill_BaseViewer_workspaceClick.htm.md)), you can use the [clientSideOptions](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/P_J_GraphicsMill_BaseViewer_clientSideOptions.htm.md) property. It exposes a boolean property for each event.
 
If autoPostBack is **true**, postback occurs regardless of values of properties of the [ViewerClientSideOptions](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/T_J_GraphicsMill_ViewerClientSideOptions.htm.md) object returned by the [clientSideOptions](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/P_J_GraphicsMill_BaseViewer_clientSideOptions.htm.md) property.
 
Default value is **false**.
 
This property corresponds to [BaseViewer.AutoPostBack](https://www.graphicsmill.com/docs/gm5/P_Aurigma_GraphicsMill_AjaxControls_BaseViewer_AutoPostBack.htm.md) server-side member.
